Our Story
Welcome to Brynderwen Barn, an ideal holiday rental located on the edge of the hamlet of Talyllyn, near Brecon and just a short distance from Llangorse Lake, all within the stunning Brecon Beacons National Park.
Brynderwen Barn is particularly well-suited for wedding guests attending celebrations at nearby venues such as Peterstone Court Hotel, Tall John’s House, Treberfydd House (Llangasty), The Barn at Brynich, and The Whole House (Tre Walkin).
In addition to being perfect wedding accommodation, our location offers excellent dining options and a variety of outdoor activities, walks, and local attractions for a memorable family getaway. Don’t miss out on the annual events like the Royal Welsh Show, Hay Literature Festival, and Brecon County Show, which are definitely worth a visit.
Our Barn
The Brecon Beacons in mid Wales is well renowned for its stunning landscapes which provide both active and passive recreational opportunities for the visitor. Excellent walking, cycling, mountain biking and horse riding routes and trails are available to satisfy all ages and abilities. The Usk and Wye rivers provide for good canoeing and for the more adventurous, there are a range of opportunities for both rock climbing and caving. The area is a haven for wildlife and for birdwatchers, Red Kites soar around the Barn. Each season brings its own unique charms.
The Brecon Beacons National Park showcases the beauty of the Great British Countryside, making it an ideal spot for a family getaway. With numerous hill walks and footpaths to explore, you'll find plenty of good pubs and restaurants to unwind in after a day on the hills. For those rainy days, Hay on Wye, known as the town of books, offers a variety of interesting shops and dining options. Conveniently located on the Offa’s Dyke footpath and adjacent to the Black Mountains, Hay also features a market day every Thursday. Brecon, with its range of facilities, is home to the regimental museum of The Royal Welsh Regiment and hosts market days on Tuesday and Friday. If you're interested in outdoor activities such as bike or canoe rentals or pony trekking, reach out to Alison for the latest information. Please note that Brynderwen Barn does not offer electric vehicle charging facilities. Guests arriving by bicycle can securely store their bikes in a locked shed overnight (at their own risk), and we also provide a covered area for motorbikers, making our holiday rental a great choice for everyone, including those looking for wedding accommodation.
The Barn
Welcome to Brynderwen Barn, a stunning four double bed, four bathroom converted barn located in the beautiful Brecon Beacons. This holiday rental features a large communal kitchen and reception room, ensuring a comfortable family getaway. Each room is en suite, complete with towels and soaps for your convenience.
Enjoy free SUPER FAST WiFi and ample free off-road parking at the property. For outdoor relaxation, a patio area is available in the garden, while inside, you’ll find a fabulous lounge and dining area equipped with a TV.
Please note that Brynderwen Barn is attached to our home, where you may encounter children, horses, and dogs. We kindly ask that you respect our home and shared space, making it a perfect spot for wedding accommodation or a memorable family retreat.
